Why I Built This
This was a hackathon project born from a simple idea — what if AI could look at your photos and help you tell the story behind them? Social media is all about captions, and most people either overthink them or skip them entirely. MemoryGram uses AI to generate captions from your photos so you can share your memories with the right words.
How It Works
Upload a photo and the AI analyzes the image to generate a prompt-driven caption — whether it's a story, a journal entry, a poem, or just a social media caption. This was my first time utilizing Claude Code and leaning into agentic development, letting AI assist not just in the product but in the building process itself.
What I Learned
Hackathons need speed and agility. The goal is to ship something usable, not something perfect. I spent time on polish that would have been better spent on core functionality. The bigger takeaway for my growth is that I need to start joining hackathons in person — the energy, collaboration, and pressure of being in the room pushes you to build faster and think sharper.
